Okay, so I really shouldn't rank this game too high, because gameplay-wise, the deductive aspect of it is really simple (if you guess wrong, you literally just get to guess again right away), and the little action segments are too easy to be interesting for most of the game, but... I dunno man, it's just a really charming game. (You can tell it's really a passion project from the fans and not Sega because everybody's actually characterized pretty well! Well, that and also that they recognize Blaze's Sonic Rush backstory consistently and also reference Sonic Unleashed throughout, plus generally seem to have a lot of love for the series as a whole... it's really great to see, honestly.) It's not a lot and it doesn't have to be a lot, but the writing is so on-point and the overall presentation feels great to where it's hard not to find yourself smiling throughout it (production quality obviously isn't the highest, again since it seems to largely be a fan project that Sega just gave approval to, and there's some grammar mistakes here and there that I probably only notice because that's what happens when you run a literary magazine, but nothing that really hampers the experience too much... I think I would die for fully animated cutscenes here though, because I LOVE THE DESIGNS OF EVERYONE HERE AAAAAA). Plot's alright too. They definitely could've done more with it, but it's more than I expected the game to even have (think I found a plot hole in the murder mystery aspect, though?). So the gist is that it's not anything great and spectacular, but it's witty and enjoyable nonetheless. Just a fun little distraction that I'd honestly like to see more of (and with plenty to gush about in parentheticals!). It's free, it's short, and it's definitely worth your time if you care at all about the Sonic franchise.

Rating: Nothing much, but a charming experience.
