Removes a lot of the feeling of freedom that the original game has and restricts your path a lot more, but sequence breaking definitely exists (whereas the original Metroid didn't exactly have much of a sequence to break). The way that the layout of the original game is reimagined and the amount of new stuff added on top make this a prime example of what I think a remake should be (plus, it has the ability to play the original baked right in!). Controls are snappy and the game has great replayability, too. Just wish you weren't shepherded down the main path quite so hard (Chozo Statues be a li'l goofy).

Rating: Best remake I've ever played.
